Visual Strategy
Harshit Kapoor, Visual Strategist at Hike My Brand Narrative Studio.
Harshit leads HMB's cinematic production work, from architectural hyperlapses to branded video series. As part of the generation that grew up scrolling rather than watching, he brings a natural, lived-in sense of what makes someone stop and what makes them keep going, paired with the discipline of actually producing and testing that instinct on real projects.
Every video platform decides how far to push a piece of content based on one core signal: whether people keep watching. This is measured in small windows, often the first one to three seconds. If a viewer scrolls past in that window, the platform quietly stops showing the video to more people. If they stay, the platform treats that as a signal of quality and extends its reach. This is why reach is not really about luck or a clever caption. It comes down to how well the opening seconds hold attention, and how consistently the rest of the video keeps delivering on that promise.
A hook is simply the tool used to win that first window. It works because it creates a small, specific tension the brain wants resolved, a question left open, a visual that does not immediately explain itself, or a claim that feels slightly surprising. Once that tension exists, a viewer stays not because they are told to, but because leaving feels like an unfinished thought. Good cinematic storytelling extends this same principle through the entire video, using pacing, visual reveals, and sound design to keep opening small tensions and resolving them just before attention drops.
"A beautifully shot video that nobody finishes is a wasted production budget. This masterclass is for hospitality and lifestyle brands that want their video work to earn attention on its own merit, not just look good in isolation."
